| Employee learning programme |
A learning programme about climate change has been implemented for all Group employees in the spring of 2008. The objective is to enhance employees’ knowledge about climate change and what they can do to reduce CO2 emissions at home, when travelling to and from work, and when at work at TrygVesta. Employees will also learn more about climate challenge to be able to develop the Group's products and services in line with growing requirements for sustainable development and customer requirements. |
| Carbon disclosure project |
In its capacity as an investor, TrygVesta was the first in Denmark to endorse the international “Carbon Disclosure Project”. Coordinated by a secretariat for a large group of institutional investors, the project asks the largest global businesses to disclose investment-relevant information about their CO2 emissions. The object is to improve the dialogue between investors and companies about climate change and CO2 emissions. |
| Internal CSR course |
All TrygVesta's managers have participated in an internal CSR course on the strategic perspectives of a CSR driven innovation – including climate change as a spearhead for innovation. |
| CO2 campaign |
TrygVesta (Stine Bosse) participates in the Danish government’s “Et ton mindre” ("One ton less") campaign to reduce CO2 emissions. |
| CO2 calculator |
TrygVesta has signed an agreement with the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, including to set up the website www.klimakutt.no. The website contains a climate calculator enabling users to calculate CO2 emissions from homes, cars and aircraft. |
| WWF climate school |
TrygVesta has sponsored a translation of WWF’s climate school (WWF in Norway) on the Internet into the three other Nordic languages, Danish, Swedish and Finnish. |
| Sustainable headquarters |
An extensive refurbishment of the Ballerup and Bergen head offices is being carried out over the next few years. Called “Living House” the project aims, among other things, for a more sustainable development (improved video facilities across borders, choice of materials, lower energy consumption and other features). |
| Company cars |
TrygVesta has adopted a new and more climate-friendly policy for company cars. |
| Climate-friendly alternatives |
On a trial basis in Bergen, TrygVesta has made it possible for policyholders who report a motor claim to choose a free bus travel pass for one month for the entire family instead of a replacement car. |
| Reward for climate-friendly customers |
In Norway, policyholders who report damage to their house may receive additional compensation of up to NOK 50,000 to finance a more climate-friendly energy solution without having to pay extra premium. |
| Video conference facilities |
TrygVesta has established new video conference facilities in Aarhus and Aalborg as a substitute and alternative to physical meetings in other parts of Denmark. |
| Environmental report for corporate customers |
At risk assessment processes of corporate customers, TrygVesta now has extended its services to include an environmental report as a counselling supplement. |
