Focusing on its role as peace of mind provider, Tryg continues to improve its offerings to motorists.
Some 300,000 will receive free roadside assistance under the scheme.
In May, Denmark’s largest insurer will launch two new roadside assistance products, “Tryg Vejhjælp” and “Udvidet Tryg Vejhjælp”, for concept customers, i.e. customers who have pooled their insurance policies with Tryg. In May and June, letters will be distributed to more than 200,000 customers informing them that Tryg Vejhjælp will in future be included in their insurance cover at no additional cost, and before the end of the year the scheme is expected to cover some 300,000 customers.

Customers should experience a high level of service at Tryg, and we should therefore also be able to help if the customer’s car won’t start or if they have an accident. We want to establish our own roadside assistance service as we see this as a strategic area of customer service. New services
Tryg Vejhjælp comprises among other things a replacement car while the customer’s own car is being repaired, an unlimited number of assistance operations, breakdown recoveries, on-the-spot assistance, transport of driver and passengers from the site of the incidence and assistance in case of sudden illness or injury while driving. All these services are supplied at no cost to Tryg’s concept customers.
- At an additional cost of just DKK 300, customers can opt for the extended roadside assistance service, Udvidet Tryg Vejhjælp, which on top of the above offers a taxi service, hotel accommodation, an annual safety check-up (brakes, tires, headlights, change of light bulbs, oil and windshield fluid) in addition to the bi-annual change between summer tires and snow tires. Tryg is the only company to offer such services, and we are certain that this product will be warmly welcomed by many of our customers, says Peter Falkenham.
Customers who are not yet concept customers with Tryg will receive an offer to purchase Tryg Vejhjælp and Udvidet Tryg Vejhjælp at attractive prices – DKK 395 and DKK 695 annually, respectively.
Unique collaboration model
To provide Denmark’s best roadside assistance programme, Tryg collaborates with Totempo. Roadside assistance is one of Totempo’s principal business areas in addition to repairs at the company’s own car repair shops throughout the country. Totempo has more than 500 employees. Via Tryg Vejhjælp’s telephone number, customers are connected directly to the 24-hour dispatch centre.
